It’s nearly Jamboree time!

Ok, first post of my new blog for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree….

On Friday I start my travels to join the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan, I’m travelling via Hong Kong for a few days before joining the UK IST Contingent in Tokyo for ISTokyo a welcome to Japan event being held for the UK IST afterwards its down to Kirara-hama, Yamaguchi City to work as part of the International Service Team for the Jamboree.

So my many Scouting friends will know what a World Jamboree is for those that don’t, well it’s the largest Scouting event in the World, held every 4 years it travels the globe and welcomes Scouts from almost every Country, it’s usual for more Countries to be represented at the Jamboree than at the Olympics!

The 23rd World Scout Jamboree will see over 30,000 Scouts aged 14-18 travel to Japan to enjoy 2 weeks of adventure and friendship. Over 10,000 adults will help them have the time of their lives!

I hope to post regularly to keep you up to date with my trip but to also keep a record for the future. I’ll also be posting on Facebook and Twitter.

You can learn more about the Jamboree at http://www.23wsj.jp/index_e.html and see whats install here.
