Day 4 Opening Ceremony

Set off for the main arena with PJ and Nutt at 8:30 after a 20 min walk we were greeted by the sight of 40,000 Scouts sat ready in the natural amphitheatre for the opening ceremony.

We started with a very poignant minute of silence for the fallen in Norway, 40,000 people from 156 countries fell silent to pay their respects.

Bear Grylls abseils down from the roof of the stage somersaults across the stage and passes the World flag from the UK to Sweden.

The camp opens as we learn about Swedish history from the Vikings to ABBA all accompanied by music and dance.

The participants had an amazing time and the rain held off.
